Euromos

Euromos is just a single building: the well-preserved columns of a temple to Zeus, located among olive groves. The slim, elegant columns with their Corinthian capitals mark it out as a later construction than many others in Turkey (2nd century AD). There are many segments of columns lying all around, and a few fragments of ancient walls among the olive trees.

The site is only about 1 km from the main road leading north from Milas. Thousands of local and foreign tourists pass along the main road on their way to Bodrum, yet happily the site is usually peaceful and almost deserted.
