Kadyanda

Kadyanda is set high in the hills near Fethiye, at the end of a long, winding uphill road. There’s nothing very spectacular about the ruins. And yet I think it’s one of the most beautiful, most atmospheric sites of all. There are remnants of a stadium and various other ruins among the pine trees, but best of all is a terribly dilapidated theatre with most of its seats buried or in disarray and trees growing among them. The dappled sunlight through the pine trees, the views glimpsed from time to time as you walk around, the cool hilltop breeze and the peacefulness of the place add up to a special experience.
