Ephesus

Perhaps the most famous of all the ancient sites in Turkey, thanks to St. Paul having preached to the Ephesians in the amphitheatre here . But it’s by no means the most impressive amphitheatre in Turkey, either in size or state of preservation. Thousands of tourists struggle along Ephesus’s ancient main street, but it does have one first-class attraction: the Celsius library building.
